ON THE EDGE OF THE SEA:
The Heart has a Voice
July 26-28, 2019 | Waldport, Oregon
Dear friends of the wild poets that go before us. Blessing and peace!
In this workshop we will celebrate the power of who we are and how we see ourselves through dreams, inner work, yoga, prayer and poetry.
Join us for a weekend of exploring the deep waters of the heart, and what it wants for our life. In this workshop we'll also explore how to meet up with the soul inside, and how to listen its wisdom. We'll learn something more about how to engage the poet and the mystic-the keeper of our dreams, and what they mean. In the circle we share at these retreats, once we've settled in by the fire and shared a bit, and the heart feels safe and cared for, we'll begin to trust the woman within. An adventure not to miss.
The truth is that the gems we can find in the unconscious and the soul can be incredibly life giving. It is also true that some of us haven't taken the time to dive in to those waters And at times we don't experience the truth we have within us because we're afraid to. But it's all part of the journey to the edge. And long live adventures.

This weekend retreat and workshop IS on the edge of the sea.
It’s taking place at my old home on the Oregon coast, the one that– after a year of wandering, I’ve gone back to once more. When I decided to settle here for a third time, to pack up and sell my house in the Sierras-leave my roots and ancestry, and give away whatever I could-I got on the road and drove the six hundred miles to the little town of Waldport, where I am now, home again. |
The moment
I pulled up the steep gravel road to my house in the woods, I jumped out of my car and dived into the grass at the foot of the nearest apple tree. The red orange sky hung over the estuary and river below, shining just like it always had. Lying under the tree, birds swooping and chirping in welcome I burst into laughter and tears of joy, my house still standing its arms outstreached and singing. –Djohariah Toor |
Surrounded by a covering of old growth trees, the Alsea House looks out onto the estuary and river to the ocean; my home for the last thirty years, sits on a knoll.
